Season 1,

#4: Build A Subscription Based Business W/ Victor Ekpo Bassey

October 24, 2016

Today I am excited to welcome Victor Ekpo Bassey on The Iveoma Show. We talked about 2 of his most popular subscription-based businesses, Power Ideas and The Highly Paid Experts Network.

Power Ideas is an audio series that focuses on personal and business development. The Highly Paid Experts Network is a leadership development community for entrepreneurs that want to become highly paid experts by leveraging their personal brands.  Building a subscription based business is a lot of work, so I talked to Victor about that process and how a newbie could do the same thing.

Iveoma – AKA ME LOL! is a place that tells in-depth and honest accounts of business start-ups in Nigeria. My shows will be inspirational, positive, and above all else educational, as I seek to empower African Diaspora professionals who plan to start their own businesses in Nigeria with hands-on tips and advice from those who have become successful already. Come hang out with me as I learn from business owners who identified REAL problems and offered REAL solutions to Nigerians.

  • Victor’s entrepreneurial journey (3:32)
  • Steps that Victor took after he ran his butcher business into the ground (7:00)
  • Selling a personal story/brand vs selling a just product (9:01)
  • Why a subscription or membership based business model is the future (11:30)
  • The importance of building an authentic personal brand and fan base (13:09)
  • Victor’s time management tips (28:00)
  • How Victor is working towards his personal goal of 200 rest days a year (30:52)
  • Victor’s dream for Nigerian students from impoverished backgrounds (50:00)

If you want to hear more Victor Ekpo Bassey check out the podcast below.  I enjoyed the interview that Fumnanya Bernard, the creator behind The Limit Breaker Show, had with Victor Ekpo Bassey and I think you will too. The interview starts at the 3:00 minute mark.

Got any questions? Comments? Insights? I’m all ears! Let’s chat down below.

  1. Okay! That was brilliant. Totally loved it. It felf natural, though at some point I thought you laughed alot- but hey, you were having fun.

I particularly liked that Victor referenced ‘failure’ as ‘feedback’. That was a great perspective.

All in all, it was a great podcast. Well done you.

    1. Ivy says:

      Hello Gilead,

Thank you for your comment! Yes, omgosh I laughed too much LOL. I realized that as I was listening back to the audio. I laughed too much, moved around too much, and used a bad audio source (that tiny hole on my Macbook) I think I am going to have create a blog post & podcast that will be released on Fridays after an interview on what I learned from either doing that interview/or from that interviewee. Anyway. Thank you so much for your comment.
*I loved what he said about feedback too*
      Have a great day,
